An arangetram is the moment that every young classical dancer looks forward to. Traditionally it was a completion of learning and taking blessings and permission from Guru to start their own journey as a performer or teacher. Arangetran is where students can showcase their talent and years of intense training. It is as much personal fulfillment as it is about being recognized as a professional artist and getting the stamp of approval from eminent gurus and rasikas who form a large part of the audience. It requires intense practice and focus to get prepared for Arangetram.
Arangetram (in Tamil and in Malayalam) is also known as “Rangapravesha” in Kannada, “Rangapravesham” in Telugu and Rangamacha Pradarshan in Hindi.
Nrutyarpan always encourages its eligible students who have gained required knowledge of the Margam and the necessary skill and stamina to perform solo or group for 1 ½ hours to prepare for Arangetram.
The Samved Visharad Program also has “Rangamacha Pradarshan” which is form of Arangetram necessary to gain the Visharad degree.
